Celebrating 15 Seasons of Adventure: Moab’s Most Personal Rock Climbing & Canyoneering Experience

15 Years Strong: Moabs Smallest Guide Service with the Biggest Heart

Fifteen years ago, Windgate Adventures was born out of a simple idea: that sharing meaningful experiences in wild places could change lives. What started as a one-person operation with a rope, a truck, and a deep love for the desert has become something truly special - a small, soulful guide service rooted in connection, trust, and a genuine passion for adventure.

While the landscape of Moab has changed over the years with new buildings, busier trails, and a growing spotlight our approach has stayed grounded. We believe smaller is better. When you join us for a day of rock climbing or canyoneering, you’re not just another name on a roster. You’re a guest, a teammate, and often, by the end of the day, a friend.

Why Boutique Matters

Being Moabs smallest guide service means we dont run dozens of trips a day. Instead, we focus on a few high-quality, customized experiences that honor your goals, your pace, and the magic of the desert. Whether you’re climbing your first desert tower, rappelling into a hidden slot canyon, or pushing your limits on sandstone, we’re there with you - every step, every hold, every anchor.

What We’ve Learned in 15 Years

The desert is a patient teacher. Over the years, we’ve learned to listen more deeply, to slow down, and to celebrate the little victories. We’ve seen fear transformed into confidence, strangers become climbing partners, and countless sunsets from the tops of routes that most people only see in photos.

We’ve also learned the importance of staying local. This business was built in Moab, by someone who calls this place home. We live here year-round, hike these trails with our dogs, and care about how our presence impacts the land. That care shows up in every detail of your day with us.

Looking Ahead

As we head into our 15th summer season, we’re feeling more inspired than ever. Moab still has so much to offer, and we’re excited to keep sharing it with new and returning adventurers. Whether you’re looking to try your first rappel, climb a desert classic, or just spend a day out in the quiet beauty of canyon country, we would be honored to show you around.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this journey - from the early days to now. Here’s to many more seasons of sandstone, sweat, laughter, and the kind of stories that only the desert can write.
